By now, you know – our neighbourhood is a little slice of heaven!
Our Events
You’ll often see garage sales and neighbour get-togethers, but other than that, we can be a sleepy little sunset-watching community. 🙂 We’re looking into bringing back the annual Canada Day celebration and love the idea of a summer bbq. If you’re interested in helping some neighbourhood events come to life, please let us know! If you have a garage sale coming up, drop us a note to add it to our calendar and feel free to post on our Facebook page.
Our Trails
Whether it be dog walks or trail running, there are lots of trails at your fingertips!
- Mutiny Lane trailhead: Easy, but hilly (!), access into Mt. Gardner.
- Schooner Lane trailheads: There are 2 trailheads that lead into the Evergreen development and Arbutus Ridge.
There are also trailheads (and short trails) leading to our 3 neighbourhood beaches.
Our Parks
Back in 2016, a group of residents worked with the municipality to bring a natural children’s park to the west side We call it the West Side Children’s Park! The park was built on Windjammer Road (near Captain’s Way) as part of the Arbutus Ridge development. You can find the park plan here. The project is still in the works but we’re looking forward to the addition to the community!
Our Beaches
Our neighbourhood beaches are King Edward Bay beach, Clipper beach and Crayola beach. From the sealife to the sunsets to the serenity, they are pretty picture perfect.
Bowen Bay beach is just down the hill and Tunstall Bay beach is a short drive away. Please note that dogs are not allowed at Bowen Bay beach or Tunstall Bay beach from July 1st to August 31st (as per bylaw).
Our Little Library
We have a little free library next to the bus stop & mailboxes on Spyglass Road. Feel free to pop by and grab a book or leave a book! To learn more about how it came to be, read our blog post about it.
